Mr. Michael and Mrs. Marianne are Austrian citizens and trekked into the Khumbu region of Nepal. During their visit to Khumbu, they became very curious and excited about the lifestyle of the local people. They wanted to know more about those Himalayan backward communities. Our guide Mr. Janga explained briefly to them without any hesitation about the conditions in remote villages.

Mr. Michael and Marianne were deeply touched by it. Initially, they helped with some money to buy necessary medicine and Sports T-shirts for children of Basa School.

Gruber family’s meaningful Mission of Holidays with the charity on 07.12.2025 into the remote Basa villages was a comprehensive package. In one way Grubers were visiting and seeing the ancient, primitive way of life, cultures, and traditions in the remote villages, at the same time they were supporting backward people by supporting meaningful charities such as stationaries, sports materials, sports T-shirts to the schools and warm supper down jackets to the marginal People.

They supported 60 Dozen ( 1 Dozen per 12 Copies) writing papers, 1 set of volleyball including Net, 1 set of Football, 100 boxes of writing pens( 5 pens per box), 20 boxes of pencils (10 pencils per box), and 93 sets of Sports T-Shirts for the students of Damku Lower Secondary School.

Similarly, they have supported 30 Dozen writing papers, 2 sets of Volleyball, 1 set of football, 50 boxes of Pencils, and 33 sets of Sports T-shirts at Basa Primary School.

Economically marginal families and farmers are living around these areas. The children of those families often lack writing papers, pens, pencils, and necessary clothes.

With hearty respect, Mr. Michael Gruber's family distributed warm super-down jackets to the old, senior citizens, widowed, blind people, handicapped, and other physically disabled people. The jackets are becoming pleasant souvenirs for those affected people during cold winters in the remote Himalayas.

Nowadays most of the villages in Nepal are emptying with young people. Basa village is also affected tremendously by that trend. The young generation is moving away from the villages for educational, economic, health, work, and different opportunities. So in most households, there are only old or senior citizens or people who are not able to work abroad, physically disabled people, widowed or marginal people living in the village.

These people may have money to buy necessary things but they may not be able to a place where they can buy. Some of them do not have money even though they may be able to reach the place, and some of them have relatives or family members but may not be unreachable within the necessary time. Thus these jackets brought a lot of happiness.
