Tyangboche Monastary trekking is specially designed for those who have short holidays or normal hikers & trekkers or children. This trekking is unique for those people who want to observe Himalayan life style and the highest mountains of the world closely without reaching to high altitude. This short trekking provides impressive experiences of old Monastery at Khumjung, historical ancient and biggest Tyangboche Monastary of Solukhumbu, stupas, painted chortens and several full of Buddhist Mantras carved stone Manewall and way of Tibetan influenced life. The maximum elevation will be only 3800m. So one should not be worry about altitude sickness. Within this short hiking, visitors can have incredible views of world highest Mt. Everest 8,848m, Mt. Lhotse 8,516m, Lhotse Shar 8,383m and Mt. Makalu 8,485m including the most beautiful Mt. Amadablam and several roaring panoramic sky touching mountains. Exploring the hidden Khumjung village and Khunde Sherpa villages, their lifestyle, Edmund Hillary’s school, hospitals and several other charities sites are very impressive. Itinerary

Car drive very in the morning KTM to Ramechap Manthali and a short flight to Lukla then following gentle trekking towards the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi via Chaurikharka village, Thado Koshi and Ghat to Phakding. 

We commence our trek to Namche Bazaar through the bank of Dudh Koshi.  Today we will cross so many suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. A long zigzag trail leads us through Banker, Monjo to Jorsalle the check post of Sagarmatha national park. Thamserku, Kusumgaru, and Kwongde Mountain are viewable; a standing Khumbila peak just ahead is standing over the Namche bazaar. We follow a short walk along the riverbed of this V-shaped valley where the river forks Dudh Koshi to the right and Bhote Koshi to the left. Now we begin steep ascending to Namche Bazar. We make a quick stoppage just over the shoulder of steep up after one and half hours of walking from where you will have an excellent view of Everest (8848m) and Lhotse (8516m.)Then it takes approximately 45 minutes to arrive at Namche Bazaar.

It is considered an ideal day for altitude acclimatization in Namche Bazaar, after the breakfast just gets higher up to the museum, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Tawache, Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku, Kusumkangaru, Kwonge Peak and Thame peak are awaiting you to greet. It would be the best morning ever in your travel time then follow the steep climb up to the world’s highest airstrip airport Syangboche. Turn right across the Everest View hotel to Khumjung village for a day excursion, visit the monastery which is still preserving a yeti’s skull then get back down to Namche by aside the Khumjung school or if you want to go to Khunde village you can continue climbing and take another direct way to Namche bazaar from Khunde.

You have to walk through the same way just up to Museum then take a right flat easy trail. The mountain view is widely spreading all around make a small break in Chhumoa and follow the path which is heading to the riverside Lowsasa and Fungitanga. From there it is a steep climb through the pine, fir trees, and juniper and rhododendron forest up to Tyangboche. Visit the holy monastery in the evening and get back to the lodge for Dinner.

Have a wonderful beautiful morning with perfect views of the highest mountains. Revisit the monastery for morning Puja and descend to Namche bazaar for lunch. Descending 600 meters down to the Dovan and overnight at a good lodge at Monjo village just close to Jorsalle national park check post.

The zigzag trail passes through several Sherpa villages like Benkar, Phakding, Ghat, Thado Koshi, and Chhoplung to Lukla.  The day will be again exciting by visiting so many hikers, porters, mules, jockeys, and local people. Farewell, dinner together with trekking crews and guests for the closing ceremony. 

Fly back to Kathmandu. Morning flight to Ramechhap and drive back to Kathmandu and free noon time.

Useful Info

Notice for domestic flight to and from Lukla:

Due to heavy air trafficking at Kathmandu airport, smooth flight operation to Lukla is impossible that’s why it is started to be operated from Ramechap airport. It is normally effective from beginning of March to end of May in Spring and late September to end of November in Autumn season. That’s why you must drive at 2:00 Am at night from Kathmandu or a night spend at Mulkot before flying to Lukla.
