Everestview

Pikey word is derived from the Tibetan language, which signifies the sky covering nature. The Sunrise and Sunset, Upper Khumbu region, Himalayas, and the lower Khumbu region's magical landscape view widely appear from the Pikey viewpoint. Apart from Majestic Himalayan views, you get an opportunity to discover unique geography, different culture and traditions of different ethnical groups. Pikey Peak trekking is designed to minimize altitude limits around the lower Solu region in a perfect Sherpa hospitality route.

Pikey peak trek is suitable for anyone willing to witness of Himalayan peaks and the authentic local lifestyle of remote people within short holidays. The Pikey Peak trail route is covered with lush forests of rhododendron, fir trees, hilly bamboo plants, oak, and pine. You will walk through numerous villages perched on the ridge tops, surrounded by terraced fields. The trek starts by driving out from Kathmandu and taking or domestic flight from Sallery or Phaplu.

Itinerary

Start overland driving approximately for 10 hours from KTM to Dhap. It is located at 3000 meters with panoramic views. If you arrive in time, then it is recommended to climb up to the Chaangestan Temple viewpoint for the wonderful sunset view. These viewpoints offer magnificent views of the mountains, including the world's highest mountains, the Everest, Cho-Oyu to Kanchanjunga range.

Have a wonderful sunrise view from the viewpoint. Start your trek along the rough road to Sigane, Latidanda, with fantastic views of the landscapes and the mountains. Everest and other of his neighbors' mountains are panoramically visible from everywhere. The trail goes through the rhododendron forest via scattered villages. There is a beautiful viewpoint at Latidanda beyond Sigane village, which offers the most magical views of Everest and Souvalley. But you should climb 30 minutes of strong staircases up the hill.

If you arrive in good time at Jhapre, then make a wonderful hike up to the hill at noon. That provides the best acclimatization and scenic beauty of the surroundings.

The trek from Jhapre to Pikey Base Camp is quite interesting through the jungle of Fir, Rhododendrons, Hemlock, Bamboos, and several kinds of alpine bushes. We must walk sometimes on the dusty road, and also available a short cut trekking trail up to Lahmuje Kharka. The trek often leads along the ridge so that the views are really super duper along the way. You pass by many old Maanes, significant yaks pastures, some stupas, many Buddhist religious symbols, and prayer flags. The trail is gradual and comfortable until the Cheese factory, then it starts to climb strongly up to the lower Pikey basecamp, then via a gentle flat. The lodges are much better for overnight stays around Pikey Base Camp.

pikeydandaStart climbing up to Pikey Viewpoint very early in the morning. It is almost an hour away from the hotel to the viewpoint. Pikey viewpoint is one of the most dominant and the best places in the lower Solu. It provides the best views of the World's highest mountains from Nepal except Mt. Cho-Oyu. The Sunrise is one of the best from Pikey Danda. Get down to the hotel for breakfast and start your trek towards Jasmane Bhanjyang. It is quite a competitive trail from Pikey Basecamp to Jasmane Bhanjyang. The lodges are very basic at Jasmane Bhanjyang.

There are two different trails via Taktor and Lodhing from Jasmane Bhanjyang to Junbesi. We recommend taking the trail from Taktor. It offers the best scenery, an overnight stay at a nice and beautiful Sherpa village called Junbesi. The lodges in Jubesi are very clean and nicer. If you have some more days, then you can take a rest day at Junbesi. The famous Thutung Cheli monastery is one hour away from Junbesi. Tibetan culture, tradition, and Nyingma Pa Buddhism dominate this area. If you want to extend your trek, then it is possible from Junbesi to Numbur sites or towards the classic Everest trail up Lukla or Basa via Taksindu Danda.

Trekking through the forest and Sherpa village.

Take a local jeep, they drive everyday from Sallery to Kathmandu. It will take a complete day drive but will be very interesting to experience countryside of Nepal
