  • The form of greeting in Nepal is "NAMASTE" and is performed by joining the palms together.
  • Develop a genuine interest attitude and respect for local customs and religion.
  • Before entering a Nepalese home, temple, or stupa remember to remove your shoes.
  • Never touch anything with your feet. This is considered an offense among Nepalese.
  • Dress appropriately while traveling.
  • Affection between man and woman publicly is frowned upon.
  • Seek permission before entering a Hindu temple. Many Hindu temples do not allow non-Hindus to enter.
  • Leather articles are prohibited to be taken inside the temple precinct.
  • Walk clockwise while walking around the monastery, stupas, and Mani.
  • Take photographs only after receiving permission for the object or person being photographed.
  • Take necessary permits and documents according to itinerary and travel destinations
