Visit the view tower very early in the morning for Sunrise. The view from the tower is spread 360 degrees from Mt. Dhaulagiri - Mt. Annapurnas to Mt. Manaslu and wide panoramic valleys. The Sarangkot to Australian camp walking trail is one of the most romantic and amazing. We recommend you to walk through the forest or ridge side jungle path. The path goes through the den bushes forest of rhododendrons, bamboo, and other Himalayan alpine plants. It is a very meditative trail, a few people follow this trail. In ancient times most people used to follow this path but abandoned it after the road approached. Since, some years back local Government developed a very comfortable walking trail, that goes via every ridge. The trail offers unique scenes of the Himalayas and harmonious landscapes, amazing flora and fauna. You never meet vehicles except hearing them far away from your path. In some parts, you come to see some temples and shrines. You must carry enough drinking water and energy bars because you never meet any shops until you reach Naudanda. Avoid the road and take the ancient walking trail from Naudanda until you reach to Kande. There is a very nice walking trail that passes through the middle of the village. Approximately 5 minutes should walk on the road then the whole time there is a comfortable and interesting ancient easy walking trail. After Kande, the trail slowly climbs for one hour through the forest to the Australian camp. Hiking from Kande to the Australian camp is the last for the day.
Locally they called it Bhaisikharka which means Buffalo pasturelands. Before tourism local people used to bring their cattle here for pasture during the Monsoon season because it is the perfect and wide place with a lot of forests. While Nepal became slowly popular for Mountaineering, a source of anthropology and flora and fauna research, the birthplace of Buddha and scenic landscapes with cultural traditions. At the same time, Australian travelers first visited this beautiful scenic place which is not so far from the civilizations neither riskier nor adventure but mysteriously beautiful. This trek provides the most things for what the travelers are looking to see and experience.
Almost 40 years ago by now, the Australians made the routine place for their holidays once a year in this place. By then there were not any tea houses, the whole field was pastures and barren. Around mid-September, villagers moved away their cattle by the same time the autumn season began, and then it used to be camping for Australian travelers. The place became the Hub of Australians for mini trekking, hiking, and Christmas and New Year celebrations. So then the Bhaisikharka got a new nickname with Australian Camp.
