Itinerary
Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Day 01: Pick Up and Greeting at the Airport.
Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, greet with a marigold garland flower, and transfer to your hotel and free time.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara by tourist bus -9 hours
We drive along the Prithvi highway through the famous Trisuli River bank. Or take the domestic flight of 35 minutes to Pokhara. Overnight at a good hotel on B/B planning in Pokhara
Day 03: Drive to Banthanti with a private Jeep and start 3 hours trekking To Ghorepani (2800M)

We should take a private Jeep from Pokhara because local Jeeps drive only according to their schedule and are not frequent. That does not suit our time and destination. The Jeep drives us to the ending point of the road at Banthanti, and then the trek starts through a den rhododendron forest via Nangethanti to the beautiful Ghorepani village (2800m). We will stay overnight at a nice hotel with a warm fire-heating dining room.
Day 04: Ghorepani- Poonhill- Tadapani 2600m -6 hours

Wake up early in the morning and hike for one hour up to Poonhill through the rhododendron forest for a magnificent sunrise view over the mountains. Poonhill is one of the regionally dominant viewpoints, Mt. Annapurna (I) 8031m, Dhaulagiri 8,167m, Manaslu 8,163m and relatively Annapurna south, Himchuli, Fishtail, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Lamjung Himal, Gurja Himal, Nilgiri Himal, Tilicho Himal, Dhampush Peak are panoramically visible. The beautiful landscape with horizontal meadows and Kaligandaki Valley widely appears. Descend to the hotel from the viewpoint for breakfast and start trekking through the deep forest until you reach Banthanti. You can stop anywhere for lunch in Banthanti. It may take about an hour to reach Tadapani village bounded by gorgeous beautiful forests. Trekkers will have a magnificent view of Annapurna South, Mt. Fishtail, and Annapurna III from Tadapani. Overnight at local lodge.
Day 05: Tadapani to Sinuwa Danda 2341m -6 hrs

Descending through the rhododendron forest to a small settlement at Chuile and then over many stone staircases until Kimrung Khola. Cross the river over a suspension bridge and follow the gentle up-and-down trail until Chhomrong Gurung village. Make a lunch break at Chhomrong with its magical Mountain View, after lunch, it descends again via hundreds of stone staircases to the River and crosses a suspension bridge. The path gently climbs uphill to the other side of the valley through bamboo, rhododendrons, and oak forests. We ascend again from Modi Khola to Sinuwa. Overnight at a lodge in Sinuwa.
Day 06: Sinuwadanda to Himalaya 3105m -6 hrs

We ascend through rhododendron, bamboo, and hemlock forests decorated with orchids and ferns. From Khuldi, the trail is downhill on a steep and slippery stone stairway into the deep bamboo village. Then, the path crosses tributary rivers on narrow bridges, several waterfalls, and a small settlement in Dovan. We ascend on a stony trail through the forest and Himalayan lodge overnight at the local hotel.
Day 07: Himalaya to Machhapuchhre Basecamp 3700m. -4 hours

The trek starts after breakfast through the alpine forest of bamboo, rhododendrons, fir, and Hemlocks up to a famous Hinku Cave. This cave is an ancient pasture shelter for local people while they were bringing their castles up to the Himalayas for the Monsoon pasture. There is a small River stream following down from Mt. Hiuchuli, cross this glacier stream ahead of the cave and follow rocky gentle climbing until you arrive at Deurali another big settlement. Ahead of Deurali, there are avalanche areas. During winter or heavy snowing time, it is dangerous to cross through there so trekkers must cross the stream and escape to the other side that ascend through birch and bamboo forest. We continue to move uphill, pass over a moraine, and go downhill to a stream. Then, short ascends lead us to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m) for overnight.
Day 08: Machhapuchhre Base Camp to ABC 4200m -3.5 hours

The trek would be one of the best attractions today. You will see some monuments of famous climbers and some holistic signs along the way. The sky-touching mountains are standing all around. We keep ascending uphill on the moraines of South Annapurna Glacier. The trail is quite interesting and always gradual uphill, passing through the beautiful landscape with mind-blowing views of surrounding mountains until we reach Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). There is a marvelous view of the south face of Annapurna rising above the sanctuary to the northwest. In the Noon, we will move towards the prayer-flags-wrapped viewpoint to enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountains and the surrounding glacier. If, you want you can go to higher altitudes for the best views of glaciers and mountains. Overnight at the Hotel at the highest altitude
Day 09: ABC to Bamboo 2490m -7 hrs
Wake up very early in the morning for a sunrise view over the Massive Mountains. The sunrise will make the whole valley golden outline. See the massive icefall and glacier and wide contour of the Annapurna Himalayas. Visit some monuments of mountaineers who lost their lives during the expedition. Start your returning trek via the same trail you scaled up through Deurali, Himalaya, Dovan to Bamboo. Overnight at lodge
Day 10: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda -6 hrs
Ascend on the rocky trail through the bamboo and rhododendron forest until Khuldi, and then descend through the rhododendron and bamboo forest to Sinuwa. Keep descending to Chhomrong Khola, cross the suspension bridge, and walk over hundreds of stone staircases up to Chhomrong, the oldest Gurung village. Have lunch with fantastic views of mountains and your retracing way. Then again descend about one hour to Jhinuwa Danda.

There is a natural hot spring with swimming pools. You can have a natural spring bath massage to relax your tired body. However, it is 30 minutes away from the hotel, and you need to pay small entrance fees.
Day 11: Jeep drive from Jhinu to Pokhara- 8 hrs
After breakfast, cross a long suspension bridge and climb 5 minutes above the bridge side for the Jeep. Your private Jeep will be waiting for you there and drive to Pokhara. You will arrive in Pokhara by Noon and take some free time to see around Phewa Lake, Lakeside, and Baraha Temple or hang into the restaurant or souvenir shopping.
Day 12: Free time in Pokhara or drive or fly to Kathmanu
Take your free time in Pokhara or drive back to KTM by Tourist bus along Prithvi highway or take a short flight from Pokhara. If you drive out it takes almost a day long but taking a flight preserves your time to explore Kathmandu as well
Some necessary information
Clothing Equipment:
- Lightweight walking boots, a pair of track shoes, and slippers to wear in the evening or when the boot is wet.
- Warm jacket (Fibers fill or down should be adequate.)
- A Rainproof jacket with a hood or poncho.
- Warm clothes or fleece jackets.
- Thin and thick trousers.
- Warm trousers are useful higher up in the mountains in the morning and at night. (Windproof/ waterproof trousers are necessary during treks going above 3000mtr)
- Thermal underwear (These are excellent for sleeping at night)
- A pair of loose-fitting long shorts and 1 lightweight long-sleeved –shirt are particularly suitable for avoiding sunburn.
- A woolen or warm hat to wear in the morning and at night. Sunhat and ensure it has a wide brim to cover the face and neck.
- A pair of gloves (warm and normal ones)
- 2 pairs of thin and 2 pairs of thick warm socks.
- Underwear, buff, and hankies as you need.
Accessories
Duffle bag or kit bag to carry your gear while trekking, sleeping bag. Small rucksack to carry personal requirements for the day e.g. toilet paper, towel, soap, etc. Water bottle. Snow glasses and sunglasses, 2-4 large plastic bags to separate clean clothes from dirty ones. Headlamp with spare batteries, sun cream, personal medicine, lip guard, toothbrush, towel, Reading materials, game items (optional), notebook, rubber band, pen and pencil, a diary, a pocket knife, trekking map, passport, and copies.
Altitude sickness
Altitude sickness (acute mountain sickness) is difficulty sleeping, dizziness, headache, fatigue, loss of appetite, rapid pulse, nausea and vomiting, etc. It affects mountain climbers, hikers, and skiers because of lower air pressure and lower oxygen levels. It occurs as the result of failure to adapt to a higher altitude. It happens most often in the brains or the longs after the fluid begins to leak from the blood vessels.
1, High–altitude cerebral edema (HACE): When the fluid collects in the brain, you initially get headaches, loss of appetite, nausea, tiredness, want to lie down and do nothing, a decrease of consciousness, and problems with balance coordination.
2, High altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE). If the fluid is collected in the lungs, you become breathless and dry and an irritative cough begins, coughing up blood, discoloration of skin, and chest tightness.
Prevention:
To prevent acute mountain sickness; we have to avoid rapid altitude gaining, drink enough water or fluid, acclimatize to adjust the body in higher altitudes, avoid alcohol, eat regular meals, get higher and sleep at lower altitudes, avoid high altitude if you have heart and lung disease. The main treatment for acute mountain sickness is to stop climbing higher altitudes and descend to a lower altitude if the symptoms occu
